Homeschooling is when parents educate their children themselves, instead of enrolling them in a school. Parents who want to educate their children at home need to apply to the Ministry of Education for a Certificate of Exemption from enrolment at a registered school. The Ministry must be satisfied that the child will be taught at least as regularly and as well as they would be in a registered school.

Quite a shift from the older titles from the franchise, these games take players to an alternate timeline, where the Nazis have won the Second World War. The series became an instant hit and has had many distinguishing accolades to its name. Machinegames jointly developed the last two titles in the series with Arkane Studios. However, both failed to make a mark in comparison to the other titles, which have earned critical and commercial acclaim.

On the contrary, Wolfenstein: Youngblood and Cyberpilot were subjected to harsh criticism. In addition to this, Machinegames has been currently working on an exciting new Indiana Jones project. Bethesda usually follows the format of letting a particular development house dedicate itself to a particular franchise or series. For instance, id Software has been solely been in charge of the Doom and Rage series, and Machinegames has been responsible for the revived Wolfenstein franchise.

However, the publishers made an exception with Fallout: New Vegas , a spinoff title from the iconic franchise, when they roped in Obsidian Entertainment. Speaking of miscellaneous developers associated with Bethesda, one has to talk about Tango Gameworks, the devs behind the popular survival horror series from Bethesda, The Evil Within.

In addition to these titles, Tango Gameworks is also the developing house for the upcoming first-person action-adventure title Ghostwire: Tokyo , which will see the light of day later this year in all probability. The latest addition to the revamped Predator movie franchise has finally been given a release date and an official title from Disney. The Elder Scrolls: Arena is first on the list. It was the first game in The Elder Scrolls series and it introduced players to the continent of Tamriel and its wilderness and dungeons.

It sold only 3, copies upon release, but sales later increased, as was expected from the first title in a series that has gone on to become one of the biggest western RPGs of all time. Critical reception was also good, and gamers were buying it and playing it months after release.

In the game was released as freeware, obviously increasing its sales. While there are no official estimates of how many copies the game did sell we can safely assume it was over a million. The development of The Elder Scrolls 2: Daggerfall began immediately after the release of the original game.

Like its predecessor, it's based in Tamriel with over 15, cities, towns, villages, and dungeons, for the players to explore. In fact, Daggerfall holds the record of having one of the biggest game worlds of all time The game was a big hit after its release with , copies sold within two days of its release. As a result, the retailers were faced with shortages of the game.

The good commercial performance later continued and the game achieved lifetime sales of around 2 million. The game was later available for a free download on the Bethesda website. While the studio invested a lot of time, money, and effort in producing Fallout 76 , the game underperformed commercially and had lower sales than its two previous Fallout games, which quickly resulted in a price drop of the game.

This was only a given since the quality of Fallout 76 was absolutely lackluster and nowhere near what was promised. Fallout 76 managed to sell 1.

Sales were as disappointing as the critical reception, which failed to impress critics and obviously the audience. In the end, the game was also marked with controversy after publishing its poor quality special edition game. For what it's worth, the expansions and new content updates released for Fallout 76 have helped mitigate most of the worst issues that the game faced. The most notable expansion of the lot is the Wastelanders update, which finally adds NPCs into the game along with better questlines.

The Elder Scrolls 3: Morrowind serves as the third installment in the series. The story is based on Vvardenfell, which is a province of Morrowind. The gameplay is similar to its predecessor, featuring an open world and various creatures and quests. However, the game was a major leap in terms of graphics. The game was a critical and commercial success for Bethesda.

So does playing a guitar I think! If there's a corner of this game that isn't the first breadcrumb on another obscure quest to find a giant shark or sunken cache of machine guns, I haven't found it. Hated The Music: Endless Ocean: Blue World will make you a fan of New Age music, because it's only the moments when you find lovely underwater caves and such that trigger the Celtic Woman songs on the soundtrack. These songs thankfully interrupt the otherwise painful, looping game soundtrack ceases.

A man dives underwater so he doesn't have to hear the world's most annoying soundtracks, dear developers. The Main Quest: You can tell that this game is an RPG based on the fact that its main quest is not nearly as interesting or enjoyable as its sidequests.

I'm being overly simplistic in my genre criticism, but trust me that this game's silly and supposedly emotional quest to discover the secret to the Dragon Song merely gives way to annoying cut-scenes of false emotion and frustratingly linear sections of a game that is best played as an open-world explore-anything-at-any-time wander.

That this quest ends with the most unnecessary boss battle since the one in Bioshock is redeemed by the fact that you can keep playing the game well after that main quest is over and focus on the fun stuff. Bad Menus: I thought JRPGs couldn't go any further backwards in their unfriendliness to players trying to keep track of the items they collect and the many quests which they accept, but Blue World proved me wrong.

Keep a notebook handy as you play this game so that you can log your dozens of juggled quests. Otherwise, you will have to abandon your dive spot and sail back to your home island, then go to your "table," then open your notebook, then click a couple more times, just to see your quest-listing again. I'd rather get stabbed by a swordfish. Endless Ocean Blue World is a huge surprise.

Not only does it provide a vast expansion of the interactive nature film format of video game that any of the older members of your family could enjoy, but it offers the depth of adventure and goals that make it one of the best role-playing games I've encountered on the Wii.

That said, the game is as much an eyesore above land as it is a beauty below the sea and some of its menu and button configurations bear the fingerprints of a development team not remembering that Wii ethic of making gamers' lives easier.

Thankfully, you spend most of your time in this game in its virtual aquatic paradises, chasing whales and having a lovely, relaxing time. A copy of the game was given to us by the publisher for reviewing purposes. Dove for more than 8 hours, played for more than 10, and barely scratched the sea foam of the side quests. Games use the spaces they create to tell stories. Some games do this by locking you in a key moment where the time of day doesn't change. Other games let you explore and revisit places at different times of day.

These day-night cycles invite players to explore at different times not only to find different things to do but to see how different locations change visually and audibly at different times of day. Some games, like The Long Dark , do this to offer a different environmental challenge at night, when the sun is in and the cold wind really affects your character. When you fill out your W-4 , you are telling your employer how much to withhold from your pay. A withholding allowance was like an exemption from paying a certain amount of income tax.

So when you claimed an allowance, you would essentially be telling your employer and the government that you qualified not to pay a certain amount of tax. If you were to have claimed zero allowances, your employer would have withheld the maximum amount possible.

If you claimed too many allowances, you probably ended up owing the IRS money. Since the W-4 is far simpler than it has been in the past, it might seem harder to change your total withholding. The loss of allowances on the form might seem especially irksome, but not to worry. There are still plenty of ways to affect your withholding. Second, the total number of dependents you claim also has a significant effect on your total withholding, so make sure you claim the correct number of dependents in Step 3.

Finally, Section 4 of the W-4 is a bit more open ended. Use the worksheet on page 3 of the W-4 to figure out your deductions. Finally, you can also use the extra withholding section to make your total withholding as precise as possible. More In File. Why Use the Estimator. Squeeze gently, keeping your finger and thumb a few centimetres away from your nipple, just outside the darker area around it areola. Do not squeeze the nipple itself as you could make it sore. This should not hurt. Release the pressure, then repeat, building up a rhythm. Try not to slide your fingers over the skin. Drops should start to appear, and then your milk usually starts to flow. If no drops appear, try moving your finger and thumb slightly, but still avoid squeezing the darker area near your nipple.

The guidelines for storing and preparing breast milk for healthy, full-term babies depend on a few factors: the type of breast milk, the storage location and the temperature. To prevent your breast milk from going to waste, store it in small batches; 2 to 4 ounces Any remaining breast milk left in a bottle after your baby is finished with a feeding should be used within two hours, or, if quickly refrigerated, used for the next feeding.

You can always thaw an extra container if needed — and you have some options in terms of container type:. Note: Breast pumps and supplies that assist lactation qualify as tax-deductible breastfeeding gear. Also keep track of what you spend and check your insurance policy to see if your plan covers breastfeeding supplies, such as storage bags , in addition to breast pumps.

After this time, you must discard it. Too many germs! Storing breast milk in smaller quantities so that your baby uses the full portion at each feeding can help reduce waste. When warming breast milk from the fridge, place the bottle in a bowl of warm water or run it under warm water. Microwaving breast milk is not safe. Breast milk naturally separates into a milk layer and a cream top when it is stored. The earlier you use up your breast milk, the better, because longer storage can diminish the amount of vitamin C in it.

Some women produce large volumes of breast milk to freeze, while other women never seem to produce enough. When it comes to freezer storage, however, smaller portions are actually better. Portions that are 2- to 4-ounce Make sure to label the bottles, cups or bags with the date and leave an inch or so from the milk to the top of the container.

Breast milk expands as it freezes, so wait to tighten bottle caps or lids until the milk is completely frozen. Click on the links below for access to 15K training programs for Novice, Intermediate and Advanced runners. It features three days of running plus two days of cross training. Long runs peak at 8 miles, just short of your race distance. On two days, I suggest you do some strength training combined with stretching. One day is dedicated to rest. More experienced runners may want to select my Intermediate Program. It is one step up in degree of difficulty from the Novice program, featuring five days of running—and one of those days features speedwork: tempo runs and training on the track.

I also suggest that Intermediate runners strength train two days a week as well as cross train. One day is also dedicated to rest. Only the most seasoned runners should select my Advanced Program. Advanced runners are given the option of running or resting on Fridays. It also contains two days of speedwork on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. Long runs peak at 13 miles. No cross-training, since Advanced runners usually prefer to run, not bike, swim or walk. Only a small percentage of runners can prosper following a training program this tough, so think twice before selecting it.

The choice is yours! You can also use this plan for walking. Just follow the same mileage recommendations but walk briskly rather than run. Cross Training: You should add in 2 days a week of cross training outside of your running days. That can include things like swimming, cycling, the elliptical, yoga, etc. These exercises involve different movements that will help balance training and prevent overuse injuries from the repetitive motions of running. Strength Training: I recommend adding days a week of strength training as well, if you can fit it into your schedule.

Stretching, icing, and foam rolling can help with that. Here are a few suggested options though by no means a comprehensive list : Hot Chocolate 15K Series November-March, nationwide — This winter race series takes place in cities throughout the United States, with a piping hot cup of hot chocolate ready for you at the finish line.

Newport 10 Miler June in Rhode Island — I love pretty much any race that takes place in Newport, thanks to the mansions and coastal views.

Sugarloaf 15K May in Maine — An adjunct race to the full marathon, the 15K event takes place on the second half of the marathon course. Perfect for trying to set a PR! With seeded start waves to accommodate elite and fast racers, there are also walking-specific divisions to accommodate those who may not be ready to run the race just yet.

Boilermaker 15K July in Utica, NY — Some refer to this event as the best 15K in the country — thanks to its long history established in , large crowd over 19, runners across several events , and big prize pool for elites.

I wish there were more races that distance! What Wendy said. Mostly 5s and halfs around where I live. For sure, definitely a bit harder to find that distance compared to others! Training for a 15K race can start with low mileage and gradually build up over time.

The length of time needed to train for 9. Your experience with running, average weekly mileage, and the distance of your weekly long run are all things that should be taken into consideration. If you are a relatively new runner, it is advisable to train for up to 12 weeks in order to gradually increase the long run while also increasing your weekly mileage. You also want to give yourself time to taper for race day.

Many popular training plans like those provided by Hal Higdon are 10 weeks for everyone from a novice to more advanced runners. Training typically consists of between two and four shorter to mid-distance runs per week.

The most important part of the training is the weekly long run. This run can have the runner peaking as high as miles, or your longest run could be as little as 8 miles. More seasoned runners should train for a minimum of 8 weeks.

If you are hoping for a strong 15K race, you should include strength and core work in your workout regiment. Experienced runners and those gunning for a PR should do some sort of speed or Fartlek workout in place of one of the weekly runs. The first thing I need to clarify is that there is a difference between completing or running a 15K and racing a 15K. If you are running a race for completion — just hoping to cross the finish line upright, you are running differently than if you are hoping for a personal record.

If you are pushing yourself as hard as you can to get the best time you can, you are racing. But there's another, less-common option to consider: the 15K. Preparing for, and running, the 15K will take slightly more time than a 10K. But overall, the demands on your body are similar, says Tim Bradley, a running coach and director of training for the Chicago Area Runners Association. Here's how this distance stacks up to the more popular alternative. The distance equates to 9.

Running a 10K involves reaching about 80 percent of your maximum heart rate and effort level, Bradley says. For a properly paced 15K, you'd only go about 2 to 3 percent slower or easier. There's a critical difference at some paces: "For most people, the difference between a 10K and a 15K is running around or under an hour and over an hour," says Lisa Reichmann, a running coach at Run Farther and Faster , near Washington, DC.

That can mean you're close to your lactate threshold, or the pace at which your body produces a compound called lactate more rapidly than it can clear it away. It's difficult to sustain running at lactate threshold pace for more than an hour, she says. So, you'll need to pace yourself a little more carefully in a 15K than you would at shorter distances.

Before you consider signing up for a 10K or 15K, it's a good idea to build up your running gradually and consistently.
